Warren Hanson does many programs every year for professional and church groups and volunteer organizations. And he is a favorite visitor in elementary schools, where he loves to talk to kids about being an author and illustrator, while making them laugh with silly glee. ADULT PROGRAMS. “I have done many programs for churches, hospices, volunteer organizations, teacher gatherings, and other groups. My programs are always positive, uplifting and encouraging, and always appropriate to the group and the occasion. The readings and stories I share will sometimes invite laughter, or may bring a sentimental tear to the eye. I may even bring my guitar and add an original song or two to the program.” Please click on “Email Warren” at left to ask about fees and schedule. SCHOOL VISITS. “I enjoy doing many elementary school visits each year. I believe it is important to spend time with kids and talk to them about what I do. I like to have smaller groups, 60-75 students at a time, so that the kids feel that they get to know me and I know them. I don’t do all-school assembly presentations, hands-on workshop sessions or extended residencies. I prefer 45-minute sessions. That allows me to talk to the kids about what I do, answer lots of questions, and read a story, either published or unpublished, of the kids’ choosing. I also draw for the kids, letting them tell me what to put into the picture. I try hard to let the kids know that I like them, and that I think they are intelligent. I also like to have a lot of fun and make them laugh.” Please click on “Email Warren” at left to ask about fees and schedule. |
