Roll-Brim Child’s Hat

Round needle or double-point needles size #8.
Knitting worsted weight yarn.

Cast on 72 stitches (or any multiple of 8 that you think will be the correct size). Knit round for 40 rows. Include other colors or a pattern or whatever you like in these 40 rows.

Decease as follows to make crown: K6 stitches, K2 together, repeat K6, K2 together across this row.
K1 row.

K5, K2 together, repeat across row.
K1 row.

K4, K2 together, repeat across row.
K1 row.

K3, K2 together, repeat across row.
K1 row.

K2, K2 together, repeat across row.
K1 row.

K1, K2 together, repeat across row.
K1 row.

K2 together across row.

Pull yarn through remaining stitches. Weave tightly on inside. Do not make knots anywhere along the way.
